The wild brown bear (orso bruno; medvjed) is found in the forests of the Cicarija (Ciceria) Mountains and the Karst region. It is called brown bear to distinguish it frm the other species of bears; for example, the white bear which lives on the glacial ice in the Arctic Ocean. It is the largest carnivorous animal in Europe. It is an animal that lives a solitary life and nourishes on a bit of everything. In the winter, it hybernates in caves or in deep crevices. The puppies, usually two, are born at the end of the winter. |

Orso bruno L'orgo bruno si trove nelle foresti della Ciceria e nelle regiono del Carso. È chiamato orso bruno per distinguerlo dalle altre specie di orsi, ad esempio dall’orso bianco, che vive sui ghiacci del Mar Glaciale Artico. È il carnivoro europeo di più grosse dimensioni. Animale che ama vivere solitario, si nutre un po’ di tutto. D’inverno va in letargo rifugiandosi in una caverna o in un qualche crepaccio. I cuccioli, di solito due, nascono alla fine dell’inverno.
