Since we are a non-political and non-commercial
website, this section includes only those people who made a contribution to
the arts, sciences and the cultural heritage of Istria and its people. Specifically, we
exclude individuals
whose claim to fame and/or notoriety resulted from their roles as public figures
or in the normal course of their business -
i.e. politicians, soldiers, the nobility, clergy, and entrepeneurs - as well as
the casualties of wars or violence. Do you recognize any of the famous Istrians in the images below?
