Sound Invitation to the Landscape - Portraits of Shavrinka "Sound Invitation to the Landscape - Portraits of Shavrinka" is a web project that unites a wider context of notions about the Shavrini women - Shavrinkas. The story of Shavrinkas originates from the end of the 19th century from the region of Slovene Istria. The context of the web - site is spread onto Shavrinka's original environment, her work, habits and beliefs; The web - story is construsted of textual, photo, video and audio documents, as well as artistic interpretations of this monumental female figure, such as motifs from literature, radiophonic play, sculpture, painting and presents the original, traditional music from the region. "Sound invitation to the Landscape - Portraits of Shavrinka" is a web project that arose from a radiophonic play "We belong to the stone, the soil and the stars too". The website project unites a wider context of notions about Shavrini women - Shavrinkas, whose life is partly presented in the ambiental radiophonic play. The story of Shavrinkas originates from the end of the 19th century from the region of Slovene Istria. Shavrinkas were Istrian girls and women, who were travelling from village to village, from house to house, collecting eggs, milk, fruits or vegetables and carrying them to the town of Trieste, Capodistria or Piran, to sell them on the market. The context of the web - site is spread onto Shavrinka's original environment, the Shavrini hills of Slovene Istria, Shavrinka's lifestyle, her work, habits and beliefs; Shavrinka's past, present and future. The on - line realization combines Shavrinka's life story with the original traditional music from the region, as well as artistic interpretations of this monumental female figure of the land, such as motifs from the literature, radiophonic play, sculpture, painting and music. The web - story is constructed of textual, photo and video documents and audio images, such as the ambiental radiophonic play, examples of Istrian musical heritage and recordings of original dialectal speech. The web - site, as distinguished from the radiophonic play, gives the chance to expand the content of a certain radiophonic programme with diversity of visual and sound images, as well as textual additions. The components (t.i. images) of the web - site alternate from general overviews to the smallest and most intimate details of the story we wish to present. Having had the chance to present the story of Shavrinka in her original environment, the on - line presentation is probably the best way to make the most authentic presentation, combining documentary materials with artistic interpretations, as the audience can hear Shavrinka talk, sing and get a closer look into her social and natural environment.
