These are some of the images I managed to get by walking around
the streets that surround the Word Trade Center (WTC). Most of the
area was blocked off to traffic and pedestrians, but you could get
within two or three blocks on the east and north sides.
All that remained
of WTC was a pile of smoking rubble. It was hard to understand
where the two 107-story towers had gone. The sense of violation
and devastation was overwhelming and indescribable.
