Trivia:
- Tirelli, Teresa (Pula, July 14, 1907 - Northbridge, CA, June 16,
1989), the actress who shared the famous grape-stomping scene with
Lucille Ball in the 'Lucy's Italian Movie' episode of
the television show I Love Lucy.
- Joe Sirola:
- According to the Internet Movie Data Base, he was once a case
worker for the New York City Department of Welfare before becoming
perhaps the most successful "voice-over" actor in the history of the
profession. His voice has been heard in scores of advertisements
since the 1960's and one cannot listen to a radio or watch a
television in a major market without hearing his distinctive voice.
- During my short Vermont weekend skiing years in the late 60s-early
70s, I had a brief personal encounter with Joe Sirola - we shared a
"T-lift". There's not much else you can do besides chat while doing
the balancing act on the lift going up a mountain, so we talked of
this and that. Just as we were approaching the top of the lift, we
found out that we were both from the Istria region. It all happened
too quickly. We had to jump off the lift, and get out of the way of
the next duo arriving behind us, so we could not stop to continue
the chat. I did not even get a chance to ask him if he was related
to my friend, Gordana Sirola, born in Fiume. I was left hanging, but
not by the ski lift. Small world, isn't it? --Marisa Ciceran
